It is important to keep pearl necklace strands dry to protect the silk thread. Some things to avoid: sunbathing with pearls, swimming with pearls, or wearing pearls in a sauna.
STORING YOUR PEARL JEWELRY
It's best to store your pearl jewelry in a protected environment and carry it in a protective jewelry pouch when you travel. After wearing, wipe your pearl jewelry with a soft cloth to remove any perspiration and makeup. Fasten clasps, and lay out your necklace neatly in your lined jewelry box to prevent tangles and scratches.
